Johnson County Small Business Recovery Grant Program
The Johnson County Small Business Recovery Grant Program has been announced by the Enterprise Center in Johnson County (ECJC). Johnson County small businesses with childcare facilities will be able to apply for the JCO Small Business Recovery Grant program.
Recovery Grant applications start on February 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. (CST), and the deadline is ongoing. An eligible individual can apply for the recovery grant program from the official website at ecjc.com/grant.
The program will provide a one-time grant of $20,000 to all eligible recipients to offset an income loss of 25%, or more, from 2019 through 2021 due to COVID-19.
The ECJC was previously appointed by the Johnson County government as the lead agency to distribute grant relief in 2021 and 2022.
The grant program is specially designed to address the economic problems experienced by Johnson County small businesses during or after the COVID-19 pandemic.
This grant program is open to all qualified Johnson County small businesses (with at least one and more than 50 full-time employees) that can verify a significant income loss (25% or more) during the period January 2019 through December 2021.

The total funding for the Small Business Recovery Grant program is $20,000.
Eligibility Requirements for the small business grant
Small businesses must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the JoCo Small Business Recovery Grant Program:
- You must be located in Johnson County, KS (as shown on the proof of business address verified by the lease agreement, rental agreement, mortgage statement, or utility bill).
- You must have 1–50 full-time employees (also verified by the employee roster).
- You must document a revenue loss of 25% or greater during the period of January 2019 through December 2021 (as verified by your 2019 and 2021 tax returns).
- You must document a revenue loss of 25% or more during the period from January 2019 to December 2020. It is also verified by the 2019 and 2021 tax returns.
Note: The Federal Relief Funding Guidelines require documentation to be collected to verify applicant eligibility.
JoCo Small Business Recovery Grant Application
There are two phases for the application:
- An online application that opens on February 8th at 10:00 AM
- An appointment with a small business consultant to review verification documents and other requirements.
Eligible small businesses must complete both phases in order to receive the grant.
