Grow Detroit’s Young Talent Online Application – 2024 GDYT Summer Youth Employment

The 9th year of Grow Detroit’s Young Talent program, the City of Detroit’s summer work experience program for Detroit youth who are finding jobs for the summer, The GDYT program provides significant summer employment opportunities for Detroit youth. Every 14- 24 year old youth can apply for a GDYT application form through the Summer Youth Employment Program. The program has officially begun, providing more than 8,000 jobs.

The 2024 GDYT application started on May 31st, 2024.

Mayor Mike Duggan joined Detroit City Council members, employers, philanthropic organizations, and youth at DTY Energy’s headquarters in Detroit to officially open the GDYT application portal, which will remain open until May 31, 2024, at the official website GDYT.org.

GDYT accepts thousands of applications, but not every youth who applies will be selected to participate. Those selected will be notified by May 31, and those not selected will be placed on a waiting list this summer.

Grow Detroit’s Young Talent Program

Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) is a citywide summer job program that trains and employs up to 120 hours of youth between the ages of 14 and 24. Youth applicants must be permanent residents of the City of Detroit and must be eligible to work in the United States of america.

A wide range of employment is available for 2024 GDYT Program participants. Examples of jobs include community cleanup, event planning, accounting, retail, and junior police or fire cadets. Last year, more than 8,000 local youth got employment under the GDYT Summer Youth Employment Program, which is the target again this year.
