Organization Support Grant Funding Information

Funding for organizations with operating budgets greater than $125,000, the maximum request amount is $25,000.

Applicant organizations with an operating budget of less than $125,000 may request up to 20% of their operating budget per request as rounded to the nearest $100.

The Community Foundation generally funds no more than 20% of an organization’s operating budget in a calendar year between Program Support and Organization Support Grants.

Organizations that are primarily run by volunteers and have much smaller operating budgets will need to contact a Program Officer to discuss the eligible amount for their specific situation.

Eligibility Criteria

The Organization Assistance Grant eligibility criteria is divided into two parts: General Operating Assistance and Capacity Building Projects:

For General Operating Supports:

Applicant must be located in Linn County,
Must be a nonprofit organization with current 501(c)(3) status,
Must be at least two years old (based on IRS determination letter),
Must have an operating budget of less than $5 million.

For Capacity Building Projects:

Must be a nonprofit organization with current 501(c)(3) status,
Must have an operating budget of less than $20 million,
Organizations located outside of Linn County may only apply for the Linn County portion of the projects.
