(Round 2) Sacramento County Small Business & Nonprofit Grant Program – California
Sacramento County small businesses and nonprofit organizations disproportionately affected by the COVID pandemic are invited to apply for relief grants. Round 2 small business and nonprofit grants will now be open from November 1, 2022, to December 15, 2022.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sacramento County has received funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to support economic response and recovery efforts. The All Small Business and Nonprofit Grant Program is designed to assist small businesses and nonprofit organizations that have been harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic and related health and safety restrictions.

This grant program will provide $7.5 million in grants to eligible small businesses and non-profit organizations. And all qualified applicants may qualify for grants of up to $10,000 each in the form of one-time direct financial assistance. However, this is a grant program, not a loan, so you will not need to pay the money back.
Who is eligible for Sacramento County Small Business & Nonprofit Grant Program?
If you want to apply for a small business or non-profit organization (business), All of the following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to receive the grant:
- Unincorporated operates from a place of business within Sacramento County. Unincorporated areas are located outside the city limits.
- In operation as of March 1, 2020, the grant is open as of the application submission date and intends to remain open.
- Active Sacramento County business license and independently owned and operated.
- Must be employed between 1 and 25 full-time equivalent employees as of March 1, 2020.
- Earned between $1,000 and $2.5 million in annual gross revenue on the 2020 tax return.
- The financial impacts experienced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and health and safety restrictions are significant.
- For all nonprofits: make sure they are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. and as the lawful Secretary of State, it must provide the majority of its services to the residents of Sacramento County.
- For small businesses only: “small business” means a sole proprietor, independent contractor, 1099 employee, and/or a registered “for profit” business entity (e.g., a C-corporation, S-corporation, limited liability company, or partnership).
