People must have a TWIC to gain access to secure maritime facilities, including ships, wharves, dockside warehouses, and port customs offices. Anyone requiring solo access to Coast Guard-certified merchant vessels or transport vessels is required to have a TWIC.

To qualify for a TWIC Card, you must be:

How to Apply for a TWIC Card Application

Online:
- Visit the official website of the TWIC Card through the given link: https://www.tsa.gov/twic.
- Read the description and verify the eligibility criteria.
- Click on the “Apply Now” button.
- Fill out the required information, such as name, gender, DOB, contact details, email, etc.
- Next, complete the required documentation like fingerprint and take a facial photo, U.S. passport, or driver’s license and birth certificate.
- Pay the required Fees through a credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check valid for five years and non-refundable.
- You can receive your card at your home address or you can collect it from the application centre.
In Person:
Individuals can complete the TWIC Card Application Process by in person at an application center.
- Go to the TWIC Application Center.
- Provide the required documentation such as be fingerprinted, and take a facial photo, your Current U.S. passport, or a driver’s license and birth certificate.
- You must pay a non-refundable fee valid for five years using a credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check.
