Oregon City Arts Commission Grant Program 2023 provided grants directly to individuals and organizations located in Oregon City with the objective of supporting local arts and artists and strengthening Oregon City’s position as a community that supports the arts and arts-related businesses.

Grant Amount for Arts Commission Grant Program

This grant program provides two levels of Funding

The Arts Commission Small Grant – $250 – $2,499
The Arts Commission Large Grant – $2,500 – $10,000

Large grants require applicants to identify a 10% match of total program costs.

Applications are due before 5 PM on April 28, 2023.

The grant application will be available from March 20, 2023 – April 28, 2023. And its final award decisions will be completed at a special Art Commission meeting on June 1, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria for Arts Commission Grant Program

To apply for the Arts Commission Grant Program, you must meet the eligibility criteria, which are listed below.

  1. Participating organizations, businesses, and individual artists must be located in Oregon City to be eligible to apply.
  2. The proposed project should be publicly accessible.
    • Funds may be used to promote a public event, provide direct support to an educational program, or support the creation/development of a public work of art.
    • Applicants must explain how the proposed project supports the vision of the Oregon City Arts Commission.
  3. In addition, the applicant must be in good standing with local, state, and federal tax authorities.
  4. Lastly, the applicant must be under a contract or agreement to deliver the project or performance (rather than pay for it).
    • For example, if the musician wishes to perform at a public event, the organizer of the event must submit a grant application to support the performance rather than the artist applying directly for the grant.
  5. All successful grant applicants such as individuals and organizations will receive an agreement letter from Oregon City authorizing them to proceed with the grant project.
