Apply for Vegetation Management Grant Program Of Sonoma County

Local groups or people in Sonoma County can now apply for the Vegetation Management Grant Program for funding to help prevent wildfires. Yes, Sonoma County is now accepting Vegetation Management Grant Program applications for a $1 million grant to fund those projects. Under this grant, residents are protected from wildfires by making fuel breaks, expanding defensible space around homes, and removing vegetation along evacuation routes in fire-prone landscapes.

Since launching four years ago, the vegetation management grant program has distributed more than $11 million in grants to 65 projects, reducing fuel loads on 48,000 acres.

All grant applications must be submitted to Sonoma County AG + Open Space by March 28 at 3 p.m. Information on grant guidelines and an online application form can be obtained from the AG+Open Space website.

Vegetation Management Grant Program

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors launched this vegetation management grant program in 2021. This Grant Program provides resources and grant funding for vegetation management in locations at high risk of wildfire. Under the grant program, 65 different projects have been funded all over the county.
